I have been debating for a couple of weeks if I should retire the blog. Let's face it. I'm the only the one that writes. Taylor doesn't even read what I write! Is there a point to continue on? Do I need to turn this website into a mom-blog where I write every minute detail of my baby-filled day? I feel that I'm already doing that right now! Oh, sigh.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was filled with lots of family. We spent Thanksgiving eve and Black Friday with Taylor's side and actual Thanksgiving with my side of the family. There was lots of baking and cooking involved: three pies, 2 batches of cookies, one cake, and 2 casseroles. On a side note, this was my first Black Friday that I did not work anywhere. Last year was the first year that I did not work retail, but this year, I didn't work retail or at a call center. I even went shopping. I really enjoyed myself and felt like a normal, over-zealous shopping American ready to spend my technically non-earned money.
This coming week, we're getting carpet and hardwood priced out. We have decided to put the house on the market next year, so we're getting the crap that needs to be fixed before the sale sign hits the yard.
On Elijah news, he is growing so fast. The last two weeks, he had a growth spurt and grew over an inch. He's now scooting across the floor. He looks like an army guy, crawling along the floor, using his arms to drag his body. His third tooth should be exposing itself some time this week.
One thing that I have learned from being a stay at home mom is that I am freakishly organized. Perhaps not with material things, but I plan my days out in advance. I plan meals, activities, outfits... everything! Within the past 3 days, I have bought 75% of my Christmas gifts already, and I have all of my Christmas cards addressed, stamped, and ready to go. I scare myself. I think when I was working, I didn't have as much time to think this far out. Now that I have more time on my hands, I try to stay as productively busy as possible. Quite scary.
Anyway, who knows if we'll retire the blog. I'm sure Taylor will want to keep it up even though he never contributes. I just think I'm writing to an empty crowd.
I think we all read each other's posts, even though the comments may be sparse. I know I read them, at least.
ReplyDeleteI second Tim's comments. :-)
