I'm slowly getting my independent groove back! Last week, I had an activity scheduled every day which made the week go by lots faster. I'm getting more and more comfortable taking Elijah out with me. Sadly, I look forward to activities that used to be annoying or mundane before just so that I can get out of the house and break the monotony. Simple things bring simple pleasures. I took Elijah to church all by myself this past Sunday. This may not sound exciting to you guys, but driving an hour and fifteen minutes one way, alone with a baby, is quite an accomplishment. Good thing Elijah loves to sleep in the car! This upcoming weekend is extra exciting because Taylor will have a 4 day weekend. I plan on having a pamper session at the nail salon on Friday, and then we plan on going to the Braves game Friday night to watch the post game fireworks.
Now, the great question is am I being suicidal by taking a baby to the Braves game? Taylor is pretty confident we won't have an issue, and I was at first too... but now I have my doubts. Will I be able to enjoy the game? Will Elijah not cause too much trouble? We wanted to go to the Friday game because it's a late evening game, and the heat won't kill us.
With that, what are your Fourth of July plans? Anybody have anything exciting scheduled? Anybody would like to join us for the Braves game?
Oh, our peach tree is having a great harvest this year! I've already made a peach cobbler and have given several to my mom and my sister. There are so many still on the tree. The only problem is that the fruit are itty bitty but very sweet tasting. Anybody wants some peaches? There is no way we can eat all of them!

Because I was bored...

All things must come to an end
After the whole Rayd going down fiasco, I begged Taylor for us to move our site to a more user friendly blogging template. Like many of you know, WordPress is a beast, and I was never part of the site development because of it. Now that I have lots of time on my hands, I wanted to move our site to a place where I can control all of the settings, images, and so forth which just a drag and click of a mouse. With some research, we ended up here.
So what's new with the Riggan family since the last post about a month ago? Let's do a quick run down.
I am currently no longer employed. Technically, I haven't turned in my notice, but I plan on doing it today when I meet up Melissa for lunch. I tried to give my notice yesterday, but the company came back with a counteroffer to entice me to stay. Alas, it did not work. Our goal as a family was to prevent Elijah from having to go into daycare, and the counteroffer would require at least 2 days of daycare. Sorry, not interested. Where does this leave us? I will most likely return to retail for part time work. At least with retail, I will have flexible hours.
We recently did a photo shoot with Elijah. If you haven't see the pictures already (which I'm sure most of you have since you also follow me on Facebook), you can see them at SnyderPhotography.com. They are a cute couple and charge really cheap for the quality pictures you get. We will most likely use them again as I really want to get some really nice family portraits of the three of us.
Speaking of Elijah, he's two months old now, sleeping through the nights, holding up his head, and is very responsive. He's more enjoyable as we can travel together as I do errands.
Mother's Day was pretty awesome, and Father's Day is this upcoming weekend. Don't tell Taylor, but all he's getting is some spit up and a dirty diaper. :) Happy Father's Day, honey!
Well, I hope you enjoy the new look. As always, this is a work in progress. I plan on getting more pictures and junk up here, but for now, this is good enough. Til next time!
